Youth Welfare Department
Department of Youth Welfare provides a platform to the students to present and to groom their talents and leadership qualities. It also plays a significant role in preserving and promoting rich cultural heritage of our nation. The department aims at providing students with cultural environment so as to shape their personality and develop their physical, mental, social, aesthetical and spiritual dimension & cultivate human qualities like integrity, honesty and tolerance by organizing various inter-college and intra-college competitions.
To empower the youth of our college by helping them identify their talents and nurture them by providing opportunities in various welfare programmes.
Ø Conducting Youth development programmes like workshops and Inter-departmental competitions
Ø Promoting talents through involvement in off campus workshops and cultural competitions.
Ø Building social values amongst the youth through their participation in community services like outreach programmes in nearby villages, visiting leprosy home, old age homes etc
Ø Gave a variety program, “Ilaya Bharatam” in All India Radio, Thoothukudi on 16th Aug, 2010. It was broadcasted on the radio on 22nd and 29th of August 2010.
Ø Conducted a one day workshop on “Valuable Crafts from waste” on 17.9.2011. Mr.T.Athirstaraj, A.L.T(S) trained the students to make many decorative articles from waste materials.
Ø A Tamil Talk Show programme “Tamil Pesu Tamilai Pesu” was recorded in our College by Podhigai TV on 15th September 2015 with the participation of nearly 32 students
