COURSE DURATION:

            UG Degree             –   3 Years            – 6 Semester with a grace period of 2 years.

            PG Degree              –   2 Years            – 4 Semesters with a grace period of 2 years.

1. Internal test:

            Maximum Marks: 25

• The average mark of best two out of three internal tests will be taken.
• There is no minimum pass mark in the internal test.

           The practical tests for both UG and PG will be conducted on continuous assessment and 25 marks will be equally distributed to all practicals (i.e. number of practicals prescribed as per syllabus) and two tests for 25 marks will be conducted. Average of the best two tests will be taken.

 Course – Papers – Teaching hours and Credits to be given under CBCS. For those Students who joined after 2021 LOCF pattern is followed.

 III. Evaluation Procedure:

1. Only the subject expert in the relevant subject can be nominated to set questions and evaluate the answer scripts.
2. A scrutiny board can be appointed to scrutinize the question paper.

• The chairman of evaluation board is the respective Head of the Departments.

1. Revaluation and Retotaling
2. i) UG, PG & M.Phil Student can apply for re-totaling by paying the prescribed fee.        
3. ii)  UG, PG & M.Phil student can apply for revaluation of any theory paper in the semester  

         examination in the prescribed form available at the office of the Controller of Examinations

      within seven working days from the date of publication of result.

  iii)  Copy of answer script can be issued to the students.

1. iv) For obtaining answer script form A can be used available at the office of the Controller  

        of Examinations.

1. v)   For revaluation form B can be used.
2. vi) Students can have the option of either applying for copy of the answer script or both copy   

        of the answer script and revaluation.

vii)   The revalued mark will be taken into account and the change is made in the mark statement accordingly.

viii)  There in no provision for revaluation or retotaling of practical papers both at the UG and  PG courses.

1. ix) Fee once paid will not be refunded.
2. Special and Supplementary Examination
3. Supplementary examinations will be held for final year regular students who have appeared and failed in any one of the semester theory papers for completing his / her degree. The Controller of Examinations office will publish the dates and fees for the supplementary exam after the results are published.
4. Special supplementary examinations in practical and theory can be conducted every year to the students who have represented the college / university / government in various activities like NSS/NCC/Sports/ Youth Welfare. However, the student has to get approval from the competent authority – on recommendation of students welfare committee.
5. Improvement Examination
6. i) One time improvement permitted on prior approval
7. ii) The examination will be held along with the regular examination.

     iii) Students will have to pay the fee.

(iv) Students who opt for improvement have to apply and appear for the same within a year of  

completion of the course of study.  A student can appear for improvement for a maximum of six paper for UG, four paper for PG and one paper for M.Phil.

VII.  Submission of M.Phil thesis and Conduct of viva-voce

1. i)  Evaluation of  Phil thesis can be done by an external examiner from outside university and the internal examiner.
2. ii) Submission of Thesis –Second week of June every academic year

      iii)  Viva-Voce examination         – Last week of June every academic year

1. iv) Late submission is permissible in some circumstances.
2. v) The student will have to pay a late submission fee and must bear the cost Declaration of result

VIII. Malpractice

             If a student is found copying from some manuscript or printed sheet or any other incriminating material, or is found possessing any such material, he / she will be stopped from writing the examination, produce a statement in writing about his / her case, and leave the hall. The invigilator concerned will seize the incriminating material, confiscate the hall ticket, identity card and answer script of the student and provide a statement of his own along with that of the student to the Chief Superintendent who will forward it to the Controller of Examinations with his endorsement. The student may be permitted to appear for the subsequent papers conditionally. Later, the student will be asked to appear before the Appeals and Grievance Committee to decide the sanctions against him / her for malpractice. The sanction will vary according to the gravity of the fault, i.e., from being debarred from one paper or all the papers of one semester, or being debarred from two or three subsequent semester if necessary. Post examination discovery of malpractices will be referred to the Controller of Examinations by the examiner. The controller will refer the matter to the Appeals and Grievance Committee for a decision. (The rules prevailing in M.S. University regarding malpractice and those framed by the academic council will serve as guidelines).

 Malpractice in any form in the examination is liable to stringent punishment.

1. Scribe

Disabled students who are permissible to use scribe services can do so as per the university norms. A prior approval is mandatory.

2. Credits

The term ‘Credit’ refers to the weightage given to a course, usually in relation to the instructional hours and content of the course assigned to it. The total minimum credits, required for completing a UG Programme is 140 and PG programme is 90. The details of credits for individual components and individual courses shall be obtained from the course structure of the syllabus book provided to the students.

2. Conversion of Marks to Grade Points and Grades

Grade Point Average (GPA) = Σ (Credits x Grade Points) / Σ Credits (For each semester)

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) = Σ (Credits x Grade Points) / Σ Credits (for all the semesters)

3. Ranking System

Two rank certificates shall be issued for every programme under autonomous stream.

The following guidelines can be followed.

1. If the student strength is less than 10, no rank can be awarded.
2. If the minimum strength is 10, 1 rank can be awarded.
3. If the Students strength is more than 10, 2 ranks can be awarded
4. Attendance
5. Minimum 75 per cent attendance –   Pre condonation
6. 74 per cent to 60 per cent                  –   Condonation and student will be allowed to write the examinations.

• Below 60 Per cent –   Repeat the semester.

5. Part V

Extension activities such as NCC, NSS, Sports, Red Cross, Youth Welfare will be taken into account for one credit. This shall not be included for the percentage of marks. The name of the activity should be mentioned in the mark sheet at the end of IV semester. Attendance is compulsory for each activity and certificate will be issued from the University.
